Complacency cost us our play-off place

Vince's View

Well it's all over this season following a last second tip-in by the Plymouth Raiders.

In what was a fantastic game played in a play-off atmosphere we worked very hard but poor free-throw shooting in the end cost us.

However, in the end we have cost ourselves a place in the play-offs by letting too many games get away from us during the season through what I believe to be a touch of complacency and maybe not enough urgency and hunger in some games.

It will hurt for a while, not making the post season, but the process has already started and we are already evaluating and making plans for next season.

The standing the club has means that failing to progress to the BBL play-offs is not really good enough.

On Saturday we have our auction and awards night taking place at the Ramada Encore hotel at 6.30pm.

We will have lots to auction off as well as an opportunity to thank all the people who have contributed to this club during the season and spend some time with the players.

Tickets are now available at www.mklions.com

I must also give a shout out to the lads at the MK College Lions basketball academy who will be hosting the British Colleges SSESA finals next Wednesday at 3pm.

This gives them a chance to win their first piece of silverware in just their second season.

I will be looking to give you a review of the season next week as we wind down into the close season.

In the meantime like the pitch at Wembley- I'm out!
