Bring on Burnley says Dons boss
Ince thinks Premier League side could fall
A delighted Paul Ince roared 'we've got a chance of beating them' after learning his side had been drawn against Burnley in the third round of the FA Cup.
Dons' thrilling 4-3 triumph over Exeter on Saturday has set up the tie with the Premier League outfit at stadium:mk.
It is the first time the club have made the third round stage in four years and Ince is relishing the tie, set for the first week of January.
"It's a great draw for us, to bring a Premier League club to Milton Keynes is fantastic," he said.
"We are up against a top flight side and we've got to respect that, but it's a game in which we can a have right go."
Burnley sit in an impressive 12th place following their encouraging start to life in the Premier League.
But that success has been based on superb home form, while away from Turf Moor things have been a lot different. They've lost six out of seven away games, conceding 25 goals in the prcoess. And that has given Ince hope of an upset against the Lancashire side who lifted the cup back in 1914.
"It's not often we are underdogs at stadium:mk so we'll go out there under no pressure and try to cause an upset.
"I expect there'll be a full house for the game. It's the romance of the FA Cup, Burnley's away form hasn't been great, and we've got a real chance."
It's certainly one for the fans to look forward to, but Ince added he hopes the players will also rise to the occasion.
"The aim for any player is to test yourself against the best and as a Premier League club Burnley will give our lads that opportunity.
"It is a challenge our players should relish. There's no pressure on them, the expectation will be on Burnley, and they can simply enjoy the occasion."
Of course the tie wouldn't have been possible were it not for Sam Baldock's brace against Exeter on Saturday. And the striker admitted it was an important win
"Everyone knew we had to pick ourselves up and this was the best way to do it," he said. "It proves we that great character."
Dons take on Millwall at the New Den tonight (Tuesday), hoping to end their run of three successive League One defeats.
Dons hope Mathias Doumbe may overcome a knock to play, while the Lions are struggling with a number of injuries and could only draw 1-1 away at Blue Square South outfit Staines Town in the Cup.
