CMK swimmers back in the medals in Hatfield
Club in 2008 Uk Challenge
City of Milton Keynes Swimming Club recently competed in the 2008 UK Challenge hosted by Hatfield Club.
Swimming in the 400m freestyle were Adam Van Lokven (5:01.36), who finished ninth, Matthew Masters (4m 25.89s) and Ben Flaherty (4m 34.33s).
Adam, Matt and Ben also swam in the 200m freestyle as did Elliot Moulder and Tom Parkins.
Bronze medals were won by Adam Van Lokven (2:34.30) and Daniel Joyce in the 200m butterfly (2m 09.09s).
Matt Masters swam the 400m individual medley in 5m 07.71s to finish in the top 10 and Ben Flaherty finished in 5m 19.01s.
Graham Joyce reached the final of the 100m butterfly, finishing second in the B final and eighth overall.
Graham's sister, Emma Joyce, finished seventh in the 200m butterfly in 2m 34.49s and also competed in the 200m backstroke (2m 28.61s).
Other CMK girls in the 200m backstroke were Jocelyn Ulyett (2m 37.91s), Lauren Ottaway (2m 26.80s), Rebecca Marshall (2m 28.51s) and Emily Young (2m 32.35s).
Emma and Emily also competed in the 200m individual medal as did Rebecca Marshall, who finished ninth.
However, it was Jocelyn Ulyett who took gold with a time of 2m 33.06s!
Rebecca Marshall, Hannah Weetman, Emily Young and Lauren Ottaway all swam in the 200m freestyle with Lauren finishing a commendable fourth.
Lauren Ottaway won through to the final of the 100m Butterfly finishing seventh in 1:07.78.
Alice Butler reached the final of the 100m Freestyle and she won a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle in 27.64.
