With just four batsmen reaching double figures, Olney’s score of 137 threatened to be too low to defend, despite Iain Keeping’s best effort of 44.

Olney’s bowlers though were in excellent form. Josh Selvey’s figures of 4-29 restricted the home side, and only three batsmen hit double figures as they collapsed to 77 all out.

North Crawley’s revival continued on Saturday as they beat Aspley Guise at a canter.

Batting first, North Crawley powered to a dominant 226-3 before declaring on 40 overs. Matt Goss top scored on 71, with James Armstrong unbeaten on 48.

The reply was short lived as Aspley Guise were skittled for just 99 as North Crawley climbed up to sixth, having sat in the relegation two weeks ago.

Milton Keynes are fifth after losing to Biddenham. MK limped to 141-7, with Ben Warren’s best efforts of 40 the highlight for the visitors.

On a tough batting pitch, Biddenham (145-4) needed 38.2 overs to see off the score to win by six wickets.

Division 2 leaders Printers also struggled with the bat, but their bowlers got them out of trouble against Bromham.

Bowled out for 128, Purus Paran pulled out all the stops on his way to figures of 5-17 as Bromham were reduced for 110.

Newport Pagnell remain hot on their heels in another low scorer against Milton Keynes City, but it ended in dramatic circumstances.

Setting only 122 to win, Newport bowled City out with the final ball of the game for 118 to take victory and to stay second in the table.

Old Bradwell (103) were beaten by relegation battlers Eggington Foresters (104-3) in another low scoring affair, while Open University (189) lost to Buckland &Aston Clinton (191-8).

In Division 3, Richard Fletcher was the star for Shenley Church End, but they could only draw with Stoke Hammond.

Fletcher hit 128 not out as the home side scored 173. And with the ball in hand, he took 5-20 as he tore through the Stoke Hammond order, but they held on for 157-9 to draw.

In Division 4, New City 2nds (206-5) looked on course for victory against Olney Town 2nds (83-9) but couldn’t take the final wicket.

In Division 5, Will Smith scored 54 for New Bradwell 2nds (235-7) as they beat St Andrews (156-7).

MK 2nds (41) were put to the sword by Stewkley (244-5), and Great Brickhill 3rds (182-6) easily beat North Crawley 3rds (91).

In Division 6, Milton Keynes City 3rds (86) were comfortably beaten by Caddington (87-5).

And in Division 7, Westcroft 3rds (136-5) were five wicket winners over New City 3rds (135-9) with Nasir Aziz scoring 52.
