Milton Keynes’ last wicket stand frustrated Eaton Bray, but ultimately rescued a draw in Four Counties Division 1 on Saturday.

A great batting performance put the home side on the front foot, with Paul Harris scoring 64, and Wes Hosking falling just before his half century on 48 as Bray set 254-8.

MK looked like they were going to make a real go of it too, with the top order getting good starts.

But as more wickets began to tumble, MK fell behind the run rate, and Bray sensed victory.

But the partnership of Julian Newman (1 not out) and Luke Anamourlis (6 not out) put MK over the finishing line on 206-9 to rescue a losing draw.

Brilliant batting from Nroth Crawley ensured they remain top of the league after beating Biddenham by five wickets.

Three wickets apiece for Ian Gillam and Steve Sharpe didn’t stop Biddenham from scoring a strong 242.

But 51 from Glenn Young and 64 from Pete Barnes , ably assisted by James Armstrong (38) and Marcus Goss (45), guided Crawley to 243-5 and a five wicket win.

Fifer for Vishal Amratlal Valambhia helped New City snatch victory over Olney. Despite being bowled out for a low 164, Valambhia’s 5-23 helped reduce the visitors for just 110.

Eggington Foresters conceded against MK City.

A Raj Lall (101 not out) century ensured New Bradwell (294-7) kept up pressure on Division 2 leaders Buckland & Aston Clinton, beating Bromham (130), with James McMillan (6-23) proving unplayable at times.

Cranfield (138) lost by five wickets to North Crawley 2nsds (139-5, Matthew Esh 51 not out), while James Watson’s 81 helped Aspley Guise (193-7) crush Newport Pagnell (76), and Old Bradwell (114-5) beat Stoke Hammond (112).

Division 3 leaders Printers (114-1) cruised past Luton Caribbean (113), Open University (262-5 dec) were frustrated by Tring 4ths (150-9) and Westcroft (118-1) made light work of Caddington 4ths (114).

Richard Fletcher scored 89 and Nick Rogers hit 55 for Division 4 side Shenley Church End (231-7) in their 125 run win over Drayton Parslow (106).

Olney Town 2nds (212-8) drew with New City 2nds (194-8), and MK 2nds (81) were thumped by Harlington (83-1) by nine wickets.

In Division 5, leaders Westcroft 2nds (138-6) beat North Crawley 3rds (132)

Great Brickhill had a winning draw against neighbours Eaton Bray 2nd.

Declaring on 236-6, Brickhill’s bowlers limited Eaton Bray to 158-8 in reply but couldn’t take the decisive wickets.

In Division 6, MK City 2nds (245-7) crushed Stony Stratford 4ths (138) by 107 runs, Old Bradwell 2nds (149) came up short against Caddington 2nds (190), while Newport Pagnell 2nds conceded against Lidlington.

In Division 7, Aspley Guise (81-3) are second after crusing past Bletchley Town 3rds (77), Printers 2nds were bowled out for just 49 against Buckland & Aston Clinton 2nds (52-2), and Wolverton 3rds (155-8) were two wicket winners against New City 3rds (154-9).
