Brickhill fail to put enough runs on the board

Great Brickhill struggled with the bat as they lost to Cumnor by five wickets on Saturday.

Batting first, Graeme Carter’s side were skittled for just 122 as Devane Warner (3-26), Max Mannering (3-28) did the damage for the home side.

In reply, Cumnor took a patient approach, but were soon passing Brickhill by, scoring 123-5 to win by five wickets and take 25 points.

The result sees Brickhill drop to sixth in the table.

It was better news for Great Brickhill 2nds though as they picked up a four wicket win over Shipton-under-Wychwood 2nds.

James Wagg (4-19) and James Clark (3-71) helped rattle through the Shipton order as the visitors were bowled out for 177.

In reply, opener Jilesh Pattni top scored with an unbeaten 69 as Brickhill (181-6) cruised to victory.
