Five star Fox guides New Bradwell to the top spot

Paul Fox's fine fifer against Olney ensured New Bradwell stayed on top of Four Counties Division 1 on Saturday.

Fox’s afternoon started badly though, scoring a duck as his side posted 239.

However, the captain bounced back in style, taking 5-45 to reduce the visitors for 120 to keep his side on top.

Sam Hagger’s 117 helped Milton Keynes (246-3) beat Aspley Guise (130) in style, but New City (137) lost out to Eaton Bray (206) as the latter climbed into second spot.

Reigning champions North Crawley (181-8) though find themselves in the relegation zone after losing Biddenham (182-3).

Old Bradwell were in fine form in Division 2 as they showed no mercy against Cranfield University.

Greg Poulter and David Perkins took three wickets apiece as the home side skittled Cranfield for just 80.

Printers are top of the pile as they too made light work of their opponents in the form of Newport Pagnell.

Purus Paran took 4-15 as Newport were bowled out for 83, and Printers (84-3) put the result to bed in 21 overs.

Open University (183-9) beat North Crawley 2nds (139)as Muhammad Salman Khan took 4-21.

MK City (214-9) just did enough to see off Bromham (211-8) to win by one wicket.

In Division 3, leaders Westcroft opener Andrew John hit 108 to help his side to victory over Milton Bryan.

John and fellow opener Naseem Sheikh (68) put the home side in control on their way to 243-5.

Asad Shah (5-22) and Jalil Sear (4-2) did the damage for Westcroft as Milton Bryan were bowled out for just 43.

In Division 4, Westcroft 2nds (149-4) beat Elstow (146), New City 2nds (152) beat Drayton Parslow (131), and MK Warriors (99-4) beat Olney Town 2nds (98).

In an afternoon of low scores, Great Brickhill 3rds (78-0) made light work of St Andrews (75) in Division 5, while North Crawley 3rds were bowled out for less than 100 (98) as Milton Keynes 2nds (147) did the damage with the ball, though they had Pete Goldspink’s 70 to thank.

New Bradwell 2nds (180) lost to Stewkley (186) despite Steve George taking 5-35.

In Division 6, Milton Keynes City 2nds are top of the league, but didn’t play as Wilden conceded to give up all the points.

Newport Pagnell 2nds (103) lost to Caddington 2nds (202-7) while Aspley Guise 2nds (137) lost to Buckland & Aston Clinton 2nds (139-2).

In Division 7, leaders Westcroft 3rds (139-6) beat Great Brickhill 4ths (137) by four wickets, Bletchley 3rds (194-8) drew with Printers 2nds (156-6) and Wolverton 3rds were skittled for 94 as they failed to chase down Ivinghoe & Pitstone’s 222.
