Stony Stratford went out with a whimper against Peterborough Town on Saturday as they lost by 143 runs at Campbell Park.

Despite taking Lewis Bruce for 7 early on, an excellent partnership between David Clarke (88) and Asmin Butt (69) put the visitors in a commanding position on 134-1.

But great bowling from Kamran Anwar (4-53) and Alex Strong (4-75) helped take out the lower order as Peterborough ended on 242-8.

The fightback was over before it really got started though as Stony crumbled with the bat.

With both openers departing cheaply, just four batsmen reached double figures as Stony were reduced for 99.

The result leaves Stony ninth in the Northants Cricket Premier League with 35 points.

They take on Old Northamptonians next week.
