Rock bottom Stony Stratford suffered another pulverising defeat on Saturday, this time at the hands of title chasing Peterborough Town.
Asim Butt (42) and David Clarke (90) put the hosts in charge at the top of the order, putting on 93 for the first wicket, with the second falling when Clarke hit his own stumps with the score on 183.
Such was Town’s confidence, the home side declared on 227-4 to take the attack to Stony.
And with their disappointing track record this season, it was the right choice as Stony failed to fire. James Pickles top scored for the visitors with 29, but hit knock at number six was too little too late as he batted with little in the way of support.
Stony were bowled out for 127 as they remain bottom of the Northants League Premier Division.
