Stony Stratford leapt up the Northants League Premier Division table thanks to a vital win over Old Northamptonians with Kamran Anwar the hero at Campbell Park.
Stony started the day at the foot of the table after a torrid time of late, and didn’t set the world alight in their innings.
Vicram Sohal was the star of the show when he hit 69, but partners came and went as Stony set what appeared to be an achievable 160.
But Old Northamptonians hadn’t accounted for a fired up Anwar.
The Stony bowler took an amazing 6-32, tearing through the Old Northamptonians order to reduce the visitors for 118.
The much-needed victory sees Stony climb from bottom to ninth - a leap of four places. But there are still just right points separating the bottom four clubs.
Next week, Stony Stratford take on third placed Finedon Dolben.
