MK BMX have risen from the ashes to win their first title in 20 years as they were crowned East Region Champions at the weekend.

Having travelled all over the region over the course of the summer, their performance in Peterborough put them over the line.

Top scorers for the club, and taking away the coveted No1 race plates for MK are Elizabeth Bown in the Girls 7-8’s, Geoff Dingsdale in the 8’s, Luke Mendes in the 13’s, Harvey Davies in the 14’s, Brandon Odell in the 16’s, Sam Cain in the 25-29, Matt Allen in Masters, Spencer Cremin in Veteran’s, Zara Lachlan in girls 11-12, Jess Mendes in girls 15-16, Austin Lachlan in 15-16 cruisers and Sarah Fuller in 17+ female cruisers.

Chairman Marc Devereux said: “I’m over the moon with how the club have raced all season.

“To take away the championship is such a massive achievement for us.

“Only three years ago, the club was minutes from closure before a few dads stepped in just to keep it going.

“We never dreamed of becoming one of the strongest clubs in the country.”

Club coach Jason Fraser added: “The riders have been amazing this year. I’m overjoyed it has paid off this way”
