Dons boss to take over at the Hawthorns tomorrow
MK Dons look set to lose a third manager in as many seasons with Roberto Di Matteo set to be named as West Bromwich Albion boss in the next 24-hours.
The Citizen understands that the 39-year-old will be unveiled as the Championship side's new manager this afternoon or tomorrow with assistant Eddie Newton going with him.
It is understood a six-figure compensation package has been agreed, with Di Matteo having signed a new contract in December to keep him at stadium:mk until 2011.
Di Matteo and Newton were both absent from the first day of pre-season training at Woughton today.
West Brom had wanted their new boss to be in place before their squad return for pre-season tomorrow. And the Italian is thought to have beaten off competition from Preston manager Alan Irvine for the job after impressing at interview.
