The Nurserymen extended their undefeated streak to three, and moved level on points with second spot - one of three teams tied on 24 points, four adrift of pace-setters Raunds.

But in the Premier League, Newport Pagnell Town’s undefeated record came to an end as they lost 3-2 to Deeping Rangers.

Darren Lynch’s side had been 11 games unbeaten heading into the clash, but two goals in four minutes in the latter stages from the home side handed the Swans their first defeat of the campaign.

Josh Winters fired Newport into the lead at the Haydon Whitham Stadium with a spectacular effort from the edge of the box, but they were pegged back just before half time thanks to Daniele Schiavi’s equaliser.

Newport thought they’d done enough when Harry Stratton scored on the hour mark to regain the lead until, with 15 minutes to go, Deeping again equalised, this time through substitute Jason Kilbride.

And four minutes later, they won it when David Burton-Jones fired home Rangers’ third to end the run.

Manager Lynch said: “We travelled with some players missing but still that is no excuse, and it’s always a difficult place to come and so the result showed.

“Our unbeaten start has come to an end - so the challenge for my lads now is how they react to a defeat.”
