The Milton Keynes City Gems are gearing up for their Bucks Girls League U13 Cup final at Chesham this Saturday.

Age group finals from U10s right through to U16s will be played on the day, with the City Gems (pictured) taking on Bedford after seeing off Someries 2-0 in the last four.

Other MK teams through to the finals are Water Eaton U10s and City Belles U12.

The girls/ladies section of MK City was founded six years ago with a handful of players, but has grown dramatically in the time since then.

The founding team were the Diamonds playing at U11s, and now they are playing in the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League.

The club now has over 100 girls and ladies playing at all age groups from U9s through to Ladies.

>> It was disappointment for two Milton Keynes teams in their respectively cup finals at the weekend. Scot U13s lost their Berks & Bucks Cup final to Purley Jubilee, and Shenley were beaten by Didcot Town in the U12 county final played at Abingdon.
