Footballer Leah Williamson is enjoying the best month of her career, including scoring the goal that set her Arsenal Ladies side on course to win the league title.
The 16-year-old midfielder was named runner-up in the FA’s Women’s Youth Player of the Year award earlier this year and has maintained her fantastic form going into the closing stages of the season.
And that form has helped her Arsenal side win the U17s League – scoring the opening goal in a 2-0 win over Chelsea that clinched the title at the start of the month.
After that league title win, and 25-yard screamer into the top corner, Leah travelled to Madrid with the England U17 squad for a tournament with games against France, Turkey and Spain, captaining the side in all three outings.
And making it four games in just six days, Leah returned to play for Arsenal in their big U17 National Cup semi-final against Aston Villa, which the Gunners won 1-0.
But after all her travelling in recent weeks, the Ousedale School student won’t have far to go on this occasion as the cup final, against Blackburn, just so happens to be held at stadium:mk on Sunday, May 12.
