Brickhill Rangers gain sweet revenge
North Bucks and District League round-up
AFC Brickhill Rangers, possible runners-up to champions Lavendon in the Premier Division, gained some revenge when they beat them 1-0 in the final of the Premier Division Trophy last week.
Playing at Buckingham Town's Ford Meadow gro-und, Rangers lifted the trophy after a close encounter.
Lavendon were pinned back for much of the first half, the only goal of the game coming after 15 minutes when Rory Manning's header from Mark Murrell's free kick was parried by the keeper, player of the match Dan Tanner firing home.
A Lavendon free kick thumped against the post before half time but the one goal proved enough, both sides going close in the second half.
>> The runners-up spot will be decided tonight, Thursday, when rivals Steeple Claydon meet AFC Brickhill Rangers, this the sides' final game of the season.
Claydon played their penultimate game of the season on Tuesday when they entertained Bletchley Manor and gained an emphatic 5-1 win.
Last week had seen Claydon record a 6-0 win at Thornborough, this Thornborough's last game of the season.
