MK Sunday League: City bankers on cloud nine

AFC Santander ‘A’ maintained their narrow lead at the top of the New City Heating Premier Division with a 9-2 drubbing of Stoke Hammond.

They stay a point clear of second placed Wolvy Town who also made it seven wins out of 10 games by beating bottom side AFC Padbury 4-1. Elsewhere Stony Stratford drew 1-1 with Olney Town.

The only game in Division One saw a 3-0 victory for Open University against Stantonbury Social Elite, while Willen lost 6-3 to Masters in the Berks & Bucks Sunday Intermediate Cup fourth round.

In the Sunday Junior Cup fourth round, Division One leaders Coachmakers Arms beat FC MMIX 2-0, New City Saints were 6-3 winners over AFC Waddesdon and Punjab United lost 5-4 to AFC Manor Fields.

Division Two leaders RJ Fitness edged out IDW 4-3 to go three points clear at the top, while Swanfica thumped Bletchley Wanderers 5-1 and Inter Faith beat basement boys AFC Santander ‘B’ 7-2.
