MK Sunday League: Willen’s excellent season gets even better
PREMIER Division leaders Willen took their excellent league form into the Berks & Bucks Sunday Intermediate Cup when they beat Chesham side Belmont 4-1.
With only two top flight fixtures played because of cup games, AFC Santander were able to move into second place behind Willen courtesy of a 4-2 win against Stoke Hammond.
The other game saw bottom side AFC Padbury hold third placed Olney Town to a 1-1 draw, picking up their first point of the season at the ninth attempt.
Back to county cup action and Bletchley Wanderers were hammered 9-0 by Division Two rivals Inter Faith in the Sunday Junior Trophy, while RJ Fitness beat Swanfica 4-2.
Coachmakers Arms thrashed bottom side Stantonbury Social Elite 7-0 to extend their lead at the top of Division One to three points, with a game in hand.
Nearest rivals FC MMIX were held to a 2-2 draw by MK United, but third placed New Bradwell maintained their good form with a 7-0 drubbing of Stanton Manor.
Elsewhere Punjab United and Buckingham United shared the points after sharing 12 goals, and New City Saints beat Open University 5-0.
The two fixtures in Division Two brought a 2-0 win for Stacey Bushes over IDW and leaders Southcott Village beat basement boys AFC Santander ‘B’ 4-2.
