CITY Colts surrendered their place at the top of the Premier Division when they lost 2-1 at home to title rivals Great Horwood, who replace them.

A strong run of form had seen Colts climb to the summit while Horwood and others were in cup action, but their defeat now leaves them one point adrift of the new leaders, having also played a game more.

Colts are also joined on 23 points by Loughton Manor and Potterspury, making for a potential four-horse race for the Premier Division title.

Loughton thumped Great Linford 5-2 and Potterspury beat Thornborough Athletic by a single goal, while MK Titans’ improvement continued with a 1-0 win against Southcott Village.

Woburn Sands Wanderers made it 10 wins out of 12 to stay top of the Intermediate Division, beating title rivals Buckingham Town Res 2-1.

Woburn are three points clear of second placed Wicken Sports, who thrashed Grendon Rangers Res 4-1, while Hanslope drew 2-2 at Brackley Sports Res.

With three games in hand on the leaders, Bow Brickhill remain well placed to overhaul Woburn after they made it eight wins out of nine with a 4-0 drubbing of bottom side Denbigh Hall.

The two ties in the Intermediate Division Trophy just about went according to form as AFC Santander beat Syresham 1-0 and City Colts Res edged past Deanshanger Athletic on penalties after a 2-2 draw.

In Division One there were wins for Olney and Padbury Village, while Woughton lost at Charlton & District.

Stoke Hammond beat Marsh Gibbon 4-2 in the Division One Trophy and Great Linford Res lost on penalties to Southcott Village Res after a 3-3 draw.

In Division Two, Comet MK made it a perfect 10 out of 10 by beating MK Wanderers ‘A’ 4-2 and Scot Youth were 3-2 winners over Twyford United.

The Division Two Trophy brought a 7-2 win for St George’s against Padbury Village Res and 5-4 victory for Great Horwood Res over Yardley Gobion Res.
