North Bucks League: Loughton on the up
THEY may have played a couple of games more than their title rivals, but Loughton Manor will go into the festive period sat top of the Premier Division table thanks to Saturday’s 3-0 victory against Great Horwood.
That win saw Loughton move three points clear of Great Horwood who fell to third place, and one ahead of Potterspury who sit second after their 3-1 victory over Brackley Sports. However, Loughton have played two games more than both Great Horwood and Potterspury ahead of their trip to Stewkley this weekend.
Struggling Stewkley were beaten 4-2 by MK Titans, who will look to maintain their winning form at City Colts – themselves still very much in the title running.
In Division One, Stoke Hammond saw off Great Linford Res 3-2, Wicken Sports Res beat Deanshanger Athletic Res 3-0, and Woughton edged past Cage Athletic by the odd goal in five.
Great Horwood Res stay top of Division Two after their 3-1 win against Silverstone, but Comet MK now have five games in hand, and are only seven points adrift.
MK Wanderers ‘A’ were knocked out of the Interdivisional Trophy with a 5-2 loss to Thornborough Athletic in their first round tie.
