Alex Revell left MK Dons to join Northampton Town on a two-year deal.
The popular 32-year-old striker signed for Dons in January from Cardiff City until the end of the season.
In his time at stadium:mk, he scored four goals in 17 appearances and also saved a Joe Garner penalty in the 1-1 draw with Preston North End at Deepdale.
Revell discussed his future with manager Karl Robinson at the end of last season, but after turning away other offers, has opted to join fellow League 1 side Cobblers, who offered him a longer term deal.
With Nicky Maynard having already left the club, Dons are now down to two strikers in the form of Simon Church and Tom Hitchcock.
