There will be no love lost in the Robinson household if Dons boss Karl has his way ahead of tonight’s FA Cup first round draw.
Warrington Town are the lowest ranked side in the draw for the famous trophy, and feature a certain Craig Robinson - Karl’s brother - at centre back.
The Wire booked their spot in the first round proper for the first time in their 65-year history on Saturday with a 1-0 win over North Ferriby United, and older brother Karl was quick to hear from Craig.
“I got a text from him on Saturday, telling me ‘we’re coming to get you!’” he said.
“I’m so proud, and happy for him. He has always supported me and been there through my great moments.
“I’m so happy for him and for everyone at Warrington Town. I was there for a short while too, so I know what it means to them and the financial implications.
“I’ve got my fingers crossed for them and I hope they get a special draw. It will be great for me to go and watch him in the FA Cup first round.”
But there will be no brotherly love from the Dons manager, admitting if his side are drawn against Warrington, he’ll be out to spoil the party.
He said: “If we get them, I want to beat them. I hope I spoil his dreams and we get them in the cup and knock them out. But that’s because it’s my job!
“Mum and dad won’t want us to come up against each other! They’ll probably want him to win! They’ll feel I’ve had an awful lot go my way in recent years!
“He plays at centre half, so my biggest fear is that he going in for a tackle on Benik or Will and I’ll cringe!”
The FA Cup draw will take place at 7pm tonight (Monday).
