DONS are about to solve their right-back problems as they aim to complete a loan deal for talented Tottenham Hotspur youngster Adam Smith.
Last week manager Karl Robinson said he’d heard ‘positive news’ regarding the signing of a new player, and details are currently being finalised on a deal to bring him to stadium:mk, although it’s not known how long for.
Smith, 20, is familiar with League 1 action having spent last season on loan with Bournemouth where he made 38 appearances, scoring once, as the south coast side made the play-offs.
His performances for the Cherries last season impressed England U20s coach Brian Eastwick enough to include him in his squad for the World Cup in Colombia. The competition is still ongoing, but England’s progress ended in the group stage – against Argentina, Mexico and South Korea – after they drew all their games 0-0. Smith started in all three.
