Dons were able to hand starts to David Martin, Darren Potter and Nicky Maynard as Karl Robinson played arguably the closest to a first team 11 at the EBB Stadium.

Maynard had missed an earlier chance before he netted after 13 minutes to put Dons into the lead, latching on to Samir Carruthers’ neat ball through.

Dons dominated the opening half hour, but were pegged back shortly before half time courtesy of a superb 25-yard strike from Charlie Walker beating Martin all ends up.

Aldershot took the lead early in the second half when Liam Bellamy also struck from outside the box.

Rasulo came on with 25 minutes to go, but he only needed four minutes on the pitch to equalise, pouncing on Ed Upson’s free kick which was parried into his direction.

Dons had a chance to win it late in the day when Tom Hitchcock’s lob just went wide of the post.

Robinson’s side have just two games left before the start of the season, starting with a home game against Premier League Everton on Tuesday night, before taking on Stevenage on Saturday.
