Dons fans: We all follow the MK... over 6,000 miles this season

MK DONS fans will clock up a total of 6,061 miles if they travel to every League One away game this season, spending 112 hours on the road at a cost of £1,146 in petrol.

The research comes from credit card company Capital One, the new sponsor of the League Cup, and shows that fans of League Two side Plymouth Argyle will travel the furthest to away fixtures this season, covering 11,068 miles to cheer on their team.

Aston Villa fans will drive the shortest distance to away games with 4,397 miles, and across the top four divisions, supporters will travel an average of 6,540 miles, spend 120 hours on the road and spend £1,230 on fuel costs if they watch all their club’s away games.

In League One, Carlisle United fans will travel the furthest at 10,161 miles and Coventry City supporters the shortest distance at 5,482.
