Dons have what it take to be title contenders, says Ebanks-Landell

The defender was a part of the Wolves squad who won promotion from the third tier in 2014 and again with Sheffield United last season before joining Dons from Molineux on loan in the summer.

Although only sitting 10th in the table, Ebanks-Landell feels Dons have the potential to be in and amongst the fight when it comes to the promotion battle this season.

"Definiately," he said. "We need to add some goals, we've got a few clean sheets and they've got to stay coming.

"It's going well at the moment, but we still feel like we can improve, which is a good thing I guess. We've had a few good wins, and now three clean sheets in a row. We can't complain really."

Ebanks-Landell headed home his first goal for Robbie Neilson's side in the 2-0 win over Bury, adding to Osman Sow's sixth minute opener, midway through the second half to wrap up the three points in a 2-0 win over Bury on Saturday as Dons extended their unbeaten run to four games.

But while he opened his account at one end, the 24-year-old was happier with the shut out at the other end as Dons made it three clean-sheets in a row.

He added: "The clean sheet is the most important thing for me, the goal is a bonus. We played really well, it was a tough game and we had to show a lot of heart. We had a good spell at the beginning, but they came into the game and it was nip-and-tuck. Lee made some great saves again, but in the end we've come away with the win.

"I have a good relationship with Scott on and off the field to be honest, and I told him to put it at the front post. I had another one there which I probably should have scored. The ball came in, Gboly dragged a man out which left me some space and I got my head to it."

With Chuks Aneke returning for the final six minutes against Bury, and manager Robbie Neilson confirming he'd get a start against Stevenage on Tuesday night, Ebanks-Landell believes Dons will only get stronger.

He added: "He will be massive - he's the strongest player I've ever played with, and I've played with some big lads. You immediately saw what he is capable of doing.

"He needs to get his fitness back, but the more games he gets, the more the performances will come and he'll be a massive asset for us."
