Former Republic of Ireland international Stephen Hunt could be offered a contract with MK Dons.
The 34-year-old winger has been training with the club for several weeks since being released by Ipswich last summer.
With more than 400 games behind him, Hunt brings with him a wealth of experience and Robinson believes if they make a move to sign him could be vital.
“He’s got a lot of games behind him,” says Robinson. “But we haven’t got a lot of Championship experience, so he’d add to that. He wants to come and play.
“He is training with us. He’s a free agent. I don’t think a contract would be a problem, but we don’t know if that’s a direction we want to go in yet. We’re talking to the chairman about it.
“He has certainly impressed me, on and off the pitch.”
