PETERBOROUGH United have had a bid turned down for Dons striker Sam Baldock, the Citizen can reveal.
The 22-year-old was subject to a verbal bid from Posh on Thursday, but it was rebuked by the club for not meeting their own valuation.
A Dons spokesman said: “We can confirm the club has received a verbal bid from Peterborough for Sam Baldock. The terms are not acceptable to the club and we have respectfully declined the offer.”
Baldock was Dons’ leading marksman with 12 goals in League One last season, and scored a memorable free-kick against Posh in the play-off semi final first leg at stadium:mk.
Despite his campaign being plighted with injury, Posh are keen to add the striker to their squad with the imminent departure of hitman Craig Mackail-Smith.
