Dons to play Shrewsbury on opening day

Karl Robinson’s side will play host to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday December 10, before travelling to Kingsmeadow for the first meeting of the sides in the capital on Tuesday March 14.

Dons’ relegation back to League 1 will also reunite them with rivals Peterborough, who will visit stadium:mk on Saturday August 27, before travelling to London Road on Saturday January 28.

Dons will also be at home on Boxing Day, when they face Charlton, and on New Year’s Eve as they play host to Swindon Town.

The shortest journey of the season will see Dons take on Northampton at Sixfields. That fixture will take place on Saturday September 3, before hosting the newly promoted Cobblers on Saturday January 21.

The final game of the season pitches Dons against Walsall at the Banks’s Stadium on Saturday April 30.
