Karl Robinson will make sweeping changes to his MK Dons side on Saturday for the FA Cup first round game with Port Vale.
Suspension rules out midfielder Darren Potter and defender Antony Kay, while teenager Dele Alli will not travel with the squad in order to rest him.
Robinson confirmed that Carl Baker, Mark Flanagan and Tom Flanagan will all be handed starts at Vale Park, but insists he’s not naming a weaker squad.
“There will be a number of changes to the team,” he said. “There could be six. Two are forced, two are just what we do, and one is resting.
“The front four could all change anyway. And then Randall and Baker in midfield, or Samir (Carruthers), with Tom (Flanagan) in at the back.
“It’s certainly not a weaker team. There’s enough there.”
The decision to leave Alli out of the squad may raise a few eyebrows, especially considering his form of late, but Robinson insists it’s a necessary precaution, with the rest of the season in mind.
He said: “Since we’ve come back from pre-season, he has played nearly 30 games already.
“He’s only 18, and people need to realise that’s hard going. We don’t want him falling behind.”
And after one cup run came to an end last week, Robinson hopes his side will thrive on the magic of the FA Cup and go one another exciting adventure.
He added: “It’s a weekend every football fan looks to and we’re excited by it as well.”
