Dean Bowditch says the MK Dons squad still believe they can get the results that their performances warrant.
Bowditch opened the scoring with a smart turn and finish just before the half-hour, but Dons could only register a single point, with Moussa Dembele’s equaliser ensuring the rewards would be split.
But Bowditch feels the team has been playing good stuff, and that the team can soon get the results to reflect this.
He said, “We’ve been playing well and some good stuff. We played Hull recently, who are one of the best teams in the league, and I thought we were fantastic and shouldn’t have lost that game. It hasn’t been our luck at the moment and things haven’t quite been going for us, whether it’s the decisions or just the last little bit of finishing or whatever.
“We still believe if we keep training and working hard, then we will get the results.”
Like Hull, Fulham bought players valued in the millions of pounds to stadium:mk, and Bowditch felt that the team has not been fazed by these opponents in the second tier.
He said, “We’ve come up against multi-million pound players and held our own. We might not have picked up the points we deserve, but you look back on our performances and they’ve been fantastic.”
Describing his strike, Bowditch said he was pleased to make the connection with the strike. He was also pleased to see the ball go in after missing some earlier chances and seeing the team endure episodes of recent bad luck.
He said, “I had a few chances just before the goal so I was in a confident mood. My first touch set me up for it – if my first touch wasn’t as good, I wouldn’t score it. All I had to do was get a good connection. It’s nice to see it go in off the post, as our luck at the moment means it would normally hit the post and go the other way. It’s nice to see it go in.”
