Tom Flanagan has joined Plymouth Argle on a one-month loan deal.
The 23-year-old defender has struggled for first team opportunities this season, and as such has been given the opportunity to play at Home Park in League 2 until February 10.
Manager Karl Robinson admitted yesterday (Thursday) he was in the market for a centre back, but also said three players may be leaving in the January transfer window to make was for new faces.
However, Robinson insisted the loan move doesn’t spell the end for Flanagan.
Robinson said: “Tom’s been great and deserves an opportunity to go and play regular football.
“As we saw the other day, it’s hard for players who have had limited game time to immediately step in and therefore this move allows him to be 100 per cent ready for when he’s required.”
Elsewhere, goalkeeper Charlie Burns has extended his loan stay at Truro Town until the end of the season.
The teenager has kept three clean sheets in his nine appearances, with six wins along the way - a run which has seen the Cornwall side climb into the Evo-Stick Southern Premier League play-off places.
