Karl Robinson admits he has worked harder on securing the season-long loan deal for Will Grigg than on any other signing.
The Northern Ireland international striker signed for Dons from Brentford on Friday afternoon.
Robinson, buoyed by the signing of the 23-year-old, said he has worked tirelessly with the Bees and with Grigg’s agent to get the deal done under the noses of others.
“I have worked for six weeks to get this deal done,” he said. “That’s harder than I’ve worked for some matches!
“He’s an incredible talent, he’ll bring us goals, and he’s just the sort of player I want.
“I know he can work in our system, because he played in a similar one at Walsall, and I can’t wait to work with him.
“That’s now two natural-born goal-scorers I’ve been able to bring in after Tom and in my ideal world the third one would be a big man so I can change the way we play.”
