MOST things in thecentre:mk are for sale, but MK Dons boss Karl Robinson won’t be able to buy what he posed with on Tuesday afternoon.
The npower League 1 trophy visited Middleton Hall for fans to pose with ahead of the new season, which gets underway this Saturday.
And the Dons supporters who turned out were also treated to appearances from the manager, as well as Dean Bowditch and Charlie MacDonald, who posed for photos and signed autographs for the gathering crowds.
But not willing to tempt fate, the three wouldn’t lay a finger on the trophy – preferring to get their hands on it in May at the end of the campaign.
“That trophy is built for champions, and we’re not champions yet,” said Robinson. “It’s a sacred thing that only people who have worked hard for 10 months get.
“Hopefully if we get to touch it, we’ll have deserved it. It gives us that incentive to go for it. My daughter has asked if she can have it for a night if we win it. I’ve got to win it for her too!”
