Captain Dean Lewington will take his relationship with MK Dons into a 12th season after penning a new contract.

The 31-year-old has missed just 50 games since the club was formed back in 2004, and has played more than 500 times - comfortably the club’s most loyal servant.

Last season, he enjoyed not just a testimonial but also guiding his side to promotion to the Championship on the final day of the season.

“I’m extremely happy to be staying,” he tsaid. “I’ve always loved it here and always been really happy. It’s been a great partnership.”

Looking ahead to 2015/16, he added: “There’s a lot of big teams and a lot of top-class grounds – we are all very excited about next season.”

Lewington joins Carl Baker, Lee Hodson and Tom Flanagan in signing new contracts, while Joe Walsh has signed on a permanent basis from Crawley.
