Maynard and Potter are expected back at Shots

Dons are expected to play a strong side for the trip to Aldershot at the weekend as pre-season intensifies.

Karl Robinson’s side travel to the EBB Stadium on Saturday for their seventh friendly of the summer with less than three weeks to go before League 1 action begins again.

Having given a run out to most of his first team in the games so far, there are a few players still yet to kick a ball in pre-season.

And those, with the exception of Dean Bowditch, are expected to be given a run out on Saturday as they take on former Dons assistant manager Gary Waddock’s side.

“We’re looking to play a relatively strong team on Saturday against Aldershot.

“Darren Potter should be fit, hopefully Nicky Maynard will be part of that too. We’re looking to bring someone new in before that, and maybe David Martin will be fit too.

“I think it’ll only be Dean Bowditch who is short of fitness.”
