Izale McLeod’s brace on Saturday maintained Dons’ unbeaten pre-season record as they beat Barnet 4-1 at The Hive.
Following Wednesday’s brilliant 4-3 victory over Rayo Vallecano, Dons headed into the game with the Skrill Premier side with an unchanged starting 11, but it was the second half substitutes that made the difference.
After a fairly low-tempo first half, Jake Hyde curled Barnet into the lead shortly after the hour mark.
And it prompted Dons boss Karl Robinson into making six changes - one of which was McLeod.
And it took the former Barnet man just two minutes to get Dons back on level terms as he headed home Alan Smith’s cross.
McLeod came close to putting Dons into the lead, but after a powerful run, couldn’t direct his shot as he sent it just wide of the upright.
But a late flurry of goals in the last seven minutes saw Dons extend and make for a comfortable victory.
McLeod scored his second goal of the day when he brought down Antony Kay’s ball, slotting neatly past Graham Stack into the bottom corner.
Seconds later, Barnet failed to keep tabs on Dons’ movement up front as Dele Alli caused havoc in the area before Mauro Vilhete turned the ball into his own net for 3-1. And two minutes later Patrick Bamford completed the rout as he rounded Stack to make it 4-1.
Dons’ last pre-season friendly is on Wednesday night against a Tottenham Hotspur 11.
