MK Dons aren’t in for a £200,000 windfall as a result of Dele Alli’s recent England performances.
Some reports have claimed Dons are set for a big pay day as a result of the 19-year-old’s call-up to Roy Hodgson’s squad.
However, the Citizen understands that figure is well wide of the mark, and is significantly less. Dons signed a confidentiality agreement with Tottenham to keep all sums and clauses under wraps.
Speaking about any potential cash windfall from Alli’s England soiree, Dons boss Karl Robinson said fans shouldn’t expect any new faces coming in as a result.
“There were a number of clauses, but I don’t think there was a great deal to come out of that cap,” he said. “We signed a confidentiality agreement with Tottenham, sorry!
“I also heard £750,000 for his cap the other day. Me and the chairman were rushing around trying to find that money! It was a very flat deal, but there were certain international clauses, but not what you’ve read.
“I don’t think there will be any players coming in!”
