Robbo clarifies his 'clowns' comments

Dons boss Karl Robinson apologised if fans felt aggrieved when he called one group 'clowns' earlier this week.

Robinson singled out a handful of fans for comments made to his players but said his words weren't aimed at the vast majority of Dons supporters.

He said: "I'm sorry if our fans have it the wrong way around, but you know me better than that. I've worked hard to turn the style around, and to make us a club with an ethos of quality and principles. We'd have never had that 10 years ago. What was said to one of my players should have been dealt with by the police, in my opinion.

"I'm a very passionate person. We conduct ourselves with respect. Certain fans have said something which I think shouldn't be allowed. We're there to be shot at and criticised. But the comment that was made at me, internally, I cannot say because of it's severity. And the 'clowns' comment was aimed at those three.

"Our fans are turning around the views of the footballing world. We like being different, the franchise. But you have to conduct yourself impeccably."
