Frustration is growing in Karl Robinson after he lost yet another key player in Shaun Williams on Monday.
The Dons boss admitted he feels like every time he begins to build a strong team capable of gaining promotion, he loses top players which holds up progress.
Williams’ departure from stadium:mk is the latest in a line of players to have left Dons, and Robinson says things have to change at the club is they are to finally make a push for promotion.
He said: “The recuitment people are coming with us (to Carlisle) and I hope to change a few things at the football club.
“We’ll have a meeting and try and move things forward. Hopefully we can put something in place.
“I want to build a team, but I lose players. I lost my leading scorer Sam Baldock a few years ago, I lost Bowditch through injury this season, I lost Ryan Lowe another goal scorer. Things keep falling away.”
Robinson though is confident he can bring in some new faces before the Transfer window closes on Thursday night, though admits they will only be temporary solutions.
“But I had a good chat with the chairman, who seemed positive on what we need to do. It’s now up to me to put some names forward.
“There won’t be any permanent signings, only loans until the end of the season.”
Robinson though feels players understand where the club is and are committed to the cause.
He said: The players trust what we’re trying to do. I want people to want to be here.
“All the players have been magnificent and I hope we can move forward.
“It’s a shame Shaun missed his last two penalties.
“But he will only have good words to say about MK Dons. We did well with him.”
