DESPITE being linked with almost every job going in the last 18 months, Karl Robinson has vowed to stick with MK Dons, and isn’t interested in the Nottingham Forest job.
The 31-year-old has often been linked with a move up the divisions since his impressive arrival on the scene at stadium:mk, but has flatly denied that he ever had eyes for any other job.
However, when Nottingham Forest approached him last season, he admitted that he was distracted by the potential of moving up to the Championship. And with the job at the City Ground available once more after their new Kuwaiti owners sacked Steve Cotterill, Robinson said he was not interested in going anywhere else until his job in Milton Keynes was done.
“I’m not going anywhere,” he said. “I’ve only got eyes for this club. I’m not interested in any other job until I get this team into the Championship.
“I’ve always been very honest when it comes to the speculation surrounding my future. I was linked to a fair number of jobs last year and as a young manager who has never had to deal with that before, it was tough.
“When the Forest job came up last time, I wanted to be respectful to all parties. I didn’t want to disrespect them by flatly refusing to acknowledge their interest, but I also didn’t want to do wrong by the chairman who put so much faith in me to do the job here.
“Now though, I’m fully focussed on getting us out of League 1.”
