MK Sunday League round-up: Willen going well as Stony’s slump continues

WILLEN are still sitting pretty at the top of the New City Heating Premier Division table after maintaining their 100 per cent start to the season with a 9-2 demolition of Stoke Hammond.

Willen’s win was their fourth in as many games and keeps them six points clear of nearest rivals AFC Santander ‘A’ who beat an out of sorts Stony Stratford 3-1. It’s now two defeats in three for last season’s champions.

The other top flight game saw Wolvy Town lose 3-1 to Olney Town.

Coachmakers Arms thumped Open University 8-1 to stay top of Division One with four wins from four.

Stantonbury Social Elite remain bottom and without a win after losing 5-0 to Punjab United, while FC MMIX beat Buckingham United 2-1, New Bradwell 2012 beat New City Saints by the same score and Stanton Manor saw off MK United 4-2.

Division Two leaders Inter Faith made it three wins out of three by beating IDW 4-3.

Southcott Village beat AFC Santander ‘B’ 4-2 to stay second in the table, while RJ Fitness thrashed Stacey Bushes 5-0 and Bletchley Wanderers beat Swanfica 3-1.
