MK Sunday League: Willen still have winning habit

NEW City Heating Premier Division leaders Willen obviously couldn’t wait to get back to action as they thumped Olney Town 7-2 to stretch their lead at the top to two points.

That’s because nearest rivals AFC Santander ‘A’ were held to a 3-3 draw by Stony Stratford. Willen also have a game still in hand. Elsewhere Stoke Hammond edged past third placed Wolvy Town by the odd goal in five.

New Bradwell 2012 missed their chance to close the gap on Division One leaders Coachmakers Arms as they lost 3-1 to Buckingham United.

Coachmakers were 3-1 winners over AFC Manor Fields in the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup fifth round. In the same competition, New City Saints crashed 4-1 to Longwick Sports Club, and the other Division One game saw a 5-2 win for Open University against Stanton Manor.

In Division Two, Swanfica beat IDW 3-2 and Bletchley Wanderers saw off bottom side AFC Santander ‘B’ 4-2.

Two of the division’s top sides were involved in extra time in the Berks & Bucks Sunday Junior Trophy fourth round – both losing to AFC Terriers and AYFCS respectively.

There was also a Knock Out Cup second round clash as FC MMIX won 5-1 at Stantonbury Social Elite in an all-Division One tie.
