While Willen maintained their lead at the top of the New City Heating Premier Division, much of Sunday’s action came in cup competitions.
Willen thrashed bottom side AFC Padbury 5-1 to stay three points ahead of Olney Town, who were awarded a win against Wolvy Town, and with four games in hand they will take some catching.
AFC Santander ‘A’ will probably provide the biggest challenge to their title push, but they took a break from normal league action to beat Buckingham United 4-1 in the Knock Out Cup second round.
In the same competition Stony Stratford thrashed poor Open University 9-0 and Stoke Hammond edged past Punjab United on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
There were also two games in the Bill Johnson Supp Cup, with RJ Fitness thumping Bletchley Wanderers 4-0 and AFC Santander ‘B’ got past IDW by the odd goal in five.
Coachmakers Arms as good as wrapped up the Division One title by beating nearest rivals New Bradwell 1-0 to go eight points clear, and MK United beat bottom side Stantonbury Social Elite 4-1.
In Division Two, there was a 2-1 win for Swanfica against Inter Faith and Stacey Bushes were thumped 8-0 by Southcott Village.
