Newport Pagnell Town made it three wins in a row on Tuesday night as they came from behind to beat Eynesbury Rovers 2-1 at Willen Road.

After losing on opening day, Darren Lynch’s men have gone unbeaten and climbed the UCL Premier Division table to fourth.

Saturday’s 2-0 win over Rothwell Corinthians was their second in a row, but Lynch rang the chances for the game against Eynesbury.

The visitors had the better of the opening 20 minutes, but the Swans fought back to carve out chances for Josh Crawley and Sam O’Neill, though neither were able to convert.

And they were made to pay when Matt Bannister headed home Ben Colmer’s free kick to give the away side the half time lead.

It did not take Newport long to fight back though, and four minutes into the second period Greg Ling robbed Bannister of the ball before riffling it into the net past the advancing Lee Jordan to equalise.

With their tails up, they took the lead nine minutes when a sublime one-two between Crawley and O’Neill split the Rover’s defence to allow Crawley to fire Newport towards all three points.

The Swans get on the Road to Wembley this weekend as they take on AFC Dunstable in the FA Cup Preliminary Round at Willen Road.
