Newport Pagnell Town dropped to 11th in the league after a 4-1 defeat to Thurnby Nirvana.

The Swans first visit up to new boys Thurnby Nirvana was one to forget as the home side extended their winning run to six league games to keep themselves on the fringe of the championship race.

Ash Day made the 13th minute Birvana breakthrough and a 27th minute Rob Tapp own goal doubled the interval home lead.

Pearson Mwaynyongo added a Thurnby third two minutes into the second half.

Jared Cunniff put Newport on the scoresheet on the hour.

Thurnby’s win was sealed by Will Gonga a minute from time.

Division 1

Thrapston closed the gap to Olney Town in ninth with a comprehensive 5-2 win.

Thrapston took the lead after seventeen minutes with a Leigh Chapman snap shot from the edge of the box.

Two minutes later Chapman doubled his money, controlling and finishing from a Wisniewski ball in from the right.

Thrapston made it three on 27 minutes, a spell of pressure ending with Liam Carter’s close range finish after Keeping could only parry a cross.

Keeping made two good saves from Chapman towards the interval.

Olney showed greater purpose on resumption, reducing the arrears after 50 minutes with Sam O’Neill feeding Aaron Murrell whose shot was saved by Foulger only for Tom Van Den Bergh to follow up with a fierce angled shot which beat the keeper at his near post.

Home comeback hopes received a further boost after 68 minutes, Murrell heading in an O’Neill free kick from the right.

Thrapston responded within a minute to put one hand on the points, Dan Bucciero’s flighted centre from the right headed in at full stretch by Wisniewski.

Olney’s last chance of collecting some reward ended when Jason Goldman’s flicked set piece header went wide of the target.

Thrapston’s nap hand was completed a minute from time when Morgan fed Wisniewski who ran at the defence on the left before slipping in Chapman to complete his hat-trick.
