North Bucks League: Goals galore in Trophy ties

A FANTASTIC 18 goals were scored in just three Interdivisional Trophy first round matches on Saturday.

The pick of the ties was a 5-3 win for Woburn Sands Wanderers against Scot Youth, while the other two games brought five goals apiece as City Colts edged past Loughton Manor and Silverstone saw off Charlton & District.

In the Premier Division, Great Linford suffered a 1-0 defeat to Thornborough Athletic, and Wicken Sports Res beat Stewkley Res 2-1 in the Division One Trophy first round.

Division One leaders Bow Brickhill made it 14 wins out of 14 by beating Great Linford Res 3-2, Woughton were 4-2 winners over Syresham Res and Padbury Village drew 3-3 with Marsh Gibbon.

Comet MK stretched their 100 per cent record in Division Two to 11 games with a 7-2 thrashing of Yardley Gobion Res as they keep pace with Great Horwood Res. Meanwhile St George’s drew 2-2 with Westbury and Stantonbury Social Elite were beaten 5-2 by Steeple Claydon in the Division Two Trophy.

Olney Town Res saw off MK Wanderers ‘A’ 2-0 in the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup third round and Bow Brickhill thumped Winslow United 7-4.
