Manager Darren Turner has taken on mission impossible at New Bradwell St Peter, and needs some help to turn the club around.
Having failed to a win a single game last season, Peters have been relegated from South Midlands Division One and are looking to start a fresh in Division Two come August.
Under the management of Simon Jay, Peters lost 34 of their 40 league matches last season and ended with a goal difference of -114.
Since then Jay has moved on to manage a new team for MK Wanderers, playing in the North Bucks League, and has taken most of his young side with him.
Turner, who was in charge of New Bradwell’s U18s team last term, has been left with only a handful of first-team players, and is conscious that he is already a bit behind in the recruitment process for next season.
However, rather than call on his established U18 players to make the step up to adult football, the 45-year-old says he needs to build a new senior team from scratch, even if he only has a few weeks to do it.
“The problem last season was that we had such a young side,” said Turner. “We could go down that road again, but it obviously didn’t work very well and we need to bring in some experience.
“A lot of clubs will already have recruited their players for the new season, so it’s not going to be easy, but we need to get people on board – maybe some old players who played here before, or new people.”
