IT’S been a disappointing few days for Newport Pagnell Town who picked up just one point from two home games against sides in the bottom half of the table.
The Swans were held to a 1-1 Willen Road draw by Peterborough Northern Star on Saturday before losing 3-2 at home to local rivals Wellingborough Town on Tuesday night.
Darren Lynch’s men are down to seventh place in the United Counties League Premier Division table ahead of a third home match in a week this Saturday when Shepshed Dynamo visit.
Olney Town conceded a late winner as they lost 1-0 to UCL Division One big boys AFC Rushden & Diamonds, three days after drawing 0-0 away to Harrowby United. The Nurserymen are back at home with Burton Park Wanderers the visitors on Saturday.
In the South Midlands League Division One, New Bradwell St Peter’s struggles continued as they lost 5-1 at home to Buckingham Athletic on Tuesday night, and Cranfield United had an excellent 1-0 home win over Hoddesdon Town. Stony Stratford Town’s Ostlers Lane clash against London Lions was postponed.
On Saturday New Bradwell lost 7-0 at Hoddesdon and Cranfield enjoyed a 2-1 win against Welwyn Garden City. In SML Division Two, Old Bradwell United drew 0-0 at Kent Athletic.
Saturday’s action sees Stony host Sun Postal Sports, Peters entertain Welwyn Garden City, Cranfield go to Southall and Old Bradwell welcome Risborough Rangers.
NORTH BUCKS LEAGUE
Loughton Manor may have thrown their chances of Premier Division glory away after they slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Grendon Rangers.
That loss, coupled with victory for Great Horwood over Yardley Gobion, means Loughton are two points off the pace, but crucially, have played two games more.
Loughton sit third in the standings, with Great Horwood second, behind Potterspury on goal difference.
In the Interdivisional Trophy first round, Comet MK thrashed Woughton 9-1 and Stantonbury Social Elite were beaten 4-2 to Marsh Gibbon.
In the Intermediate Division, AFC Santander lost 2-1 to Hanslope, and Potterspury Res hammered Grendon Rangers Res 5-1.
It’s now 17 wins out of 17 for Bow Brickhill Res in Division One thanks to their 3-1 victory against Padbury Village, while Stoke Hammond went down 3-0 to Charlton & District.
And Scot Youth have gone top of Division Two with a 3-1 win against Steeple Claydon, while Hanslope Res saw off Yardley Gobion Res 4-2.
In the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup sixth round, Bow Brickhill lost 5-2 to Oakley United.
MK SUNDAY LEAGUE
The only New City Heating Premier Division game on Sunday saw Olney Town thump AFC Padbury 5-0, while in Division One, Stanton Manor saw off Buckingham United 3-2.
In Division Two, AFC Santander ‘B’ and Swanfica drew 2-2, there was a 2-1 win for Bletchley Wanderers over Inter Faith, and IDW went down 6-1 to Southcott Village.
