A Milton Keynes school football team is just one step away from representing MK Dons at Wembley Stadium this May.

Emerson Valley Junior School’s youngsters have already won through local play-offs to be named as the official representative for MK Dons in the npower Football League U11 Kids Cup.

The first stage of the competition saw local schools compete for the right to represent their nearest professional club. And having won the right to fly the Dons flag, Emerson Valley’s young guns will now take on other teams from the south of the country in a bid to reach the grand final, played at Wembley Stadium, against the winners of the northern area finals.

Emerson Valley take part in the southern regional finals at Crawley Town FC on March 21, and if they are victorious, their next game will be at Wembley before the npower League 1 play-off final on May 19.

The npower Football League Kids Cup is a nationwide six-a-side tournament for U11 school children, and the competition culminates in three grand finals, one for each division.

The 11/12 season saw more than 2,000 schools take part in the two competitions with schools representing Leicester City, Brentford and Bristol Rovers being crowned champions of the Championship, League 1 and League 2 Kids Cup finals.

Good luck to the Emerson Valley team of Sam Goodman, Riko Roberts, Elton Atat, Joseph Rider, Romano Bent, Connor Boyce, Morgan Emmett and Tysan Aluko.
